  • FOUR weeks into sketchbooks – what are you accomplishing with the TOOLS of drawing that you have struggled on in the previous sketches – or what are you doing better in this week’s class work that you can put into your sketchbook assignment

Reflection / Evaluation: How can you look at the CAN or BOTTLE to really make it your own? 2 things… What are 2 things you can do? DON’T JUST COPY IT! Do you have to continue working on it so that it is FINISHED for NEXT TUESDAY?

Goals:

  • 1.2Ad: Choose from a range of materials and methods of traditional and contemporary artistic practices, following or breaking established conventions, to plan the making of multiple works of art and design based on a theme, idea, or concept.
  • What do you think of when I ask you about the ELEMENTS of Art? What about when you are asked about the Principles of Design? Write out 3 things you think in your GOALS page. NOW… when done… one member of the class at the board – What ARE the ELEMENTS? What ARE the PRINCIPLES? Write them out on the Chalkboard. Are there OTHER things you think of when it comes to ART? 3 columns…

Reflection / Evaluation: What was so difficult about SIMPLIFYING the ideas down to ONE ELEMENT and ONE PRINCIPLE? 2 or 3 ideas about why it was so difficult.

  • Describe to your neighbor how YOUR WORK OF ART reflects the music you are inspired by? As you develop the ideas of KANDINSKY – Are you approaching your work as a der blaue reiter or as a member of the BAUHAUS? Explain! How would you label this work by Kandinsky? Simple / Melodic? Impression? Improvisation? Composition? der Blaue Reiter? Bauhaus?

Reflection / Evaluation:  Are you successful in the communication of your ideas? Write out 3 reasons to back up your successes.
