Drawing: Books and THUMBNAILS are happening today

2.1Ac: Through experimentation, practice, and persistence, demonstrate acquisition of skills and knowledge in a chosen art form.

Most young artists work with their FIRST idea and that’s it. What might the benefit be to begin with MORE ideas? When you sketch in your binders / homework… where do you mostly get your ideas from?  How do you define OBSERVATION?

What do you hope to come up with this year in Drawing? What do you feel you will be able to improve on regarding the skills you have currently? Make sure you bring in a book for MONDAY… otherwise you are stuck with what I bring in.

Studio Art 360: Last day to Sol LeWitt our art.

2.1P: Engage in making a work of art or design without having a preconceived plan.

What is a balance? What is a pattern? What patterns and balance are you drawn to?

What challenges or successes did you have in the ideas of drawing out a pattern with specific instructions? What are your REAL feelings about this kind of experience / art making?

AP Studio Art: 25 objects… YIKES! Sketches are DUE Monday too. Let me show you how to BLOG it.

2.2Ad: Demonstrate understanding of the importance of balancing freedom and responsibility in the use of images, materials, tools, and equipment in the creation and circulation of creative work.

What materials are you NOT using yet? Make sure that in the body of work you are making (about 1 object) you try things you are not comfortable with. How are you going to PRESENT this in the end? You need to THINK about the process and the product.

What mediums are you afraid of using. If not afraid – haven’t used because you are not used in the past?

Regarding the BLOG the View: In Chapter 1 you are going to ADD an image to the page. I will SHOW you how today so that you can do it on your own this weekend. If you DO NOT HAVE IT DONE by Monday – TALK TO ME so we can re-teach you how to upload the image. Image and a BRIEF Statement about the image… that’s it. Thanks!
