Third Day in the #Studio and what have you got to show? LOTS!

Agnes Martin talks about the meaning of what art is, “Art is the concrete representation of our most subtle feelings.” In the first number of works ALL of our artists are completing we are working on the subtle feelings, the observation, the study of life… objects, lines, personal feelings and spaces. What are you doing to explore your own worlds? Go ahead – try our Sol LeWitt Exercise

Drawing: How do we begin the ideas of a stack of books – with THUMBNAILS – 5 of them.

Express: Learning to create works that convey an idea, a feeling, or a personal meaning.

Look at the thumbnails from last week and discuss with a neighbor what is working in the composition and what is not.

What type of balance do you understand? We are going to be using this idea in the FIRST MAJOR ARTWORK of the year coming up NEXT WEEK. What are three reasons you chose this direction to go with?

Can you keep your studies SIMPLE and ELEGANT? This is STILL a lot of OBSERVATION and CONCENTRATION. https://i.pinimg.com/736x/5b/7c/03/5b7c035bbfce544ad045afe8580a2d45–drawing-lessons-drawing-techniques.jpg

What NEW materials have you used today? How are the LARGER ideas of the project coming along? What do you need to be doing tomorrow to make STRONG headway?
