  • Today you are really getting started in your final 2 Week project. Remember that finishing EARLY is just as bad as finishing LATE. Balance the project and the time and the skills. What are the LARGER LIFE LONG SKILLS that you have developed in STAINED GLASS that are going to get you to a successful finish line?

Drawing: Outside – YEAH! (But not today)

  • What drawing were you able to get done this weekend to make up for last weeks missed day? Today we start back into the book and work the OTHER direction – back to the beginning of the books. IF you started FAR AWAY and got closer… you need to work to the FAR AWAY again… visa-versa if you started CLOSE UP. What are the LIFELONG SKILLS that you will / have taken from here that will last you long after you are done with high school? Name 3.

AP Studio Art: Portrait!

  • 1.1Ac: Individually or collaboratively formulate new creative problems based on student’s existing artwork
  • 9.1Ad: Construct evaluations of a work of art or collection of works based on differing sets of criteria.
  • What are your plans for this portrait project? Remember that it is more than the simple redraw of their likeness. This drawing needs to get into the idea of THEM and their personality, their work, their being… but it is also YOUR ARTWORK. Next week we are installing a show in the gallery, and you are preparing a HUGE GOOGLE SLIDE SHOW of ALL OF YOUR WORKS!

  • we are rotating through one another and doing TWO FIGURE DRAWINGS per class Next week we are working with ONE FIGURE ALL WEEK. the following week… Cleaning and resolving the figure drawing. Final exam will be a critique of the figure work. What are your fears of the figure? What challenges do you see when it comes to the figure?
