#MidWeek is HERE!

“Never tell a young person that anything cannot be done. God may have been waiting centuries for someone ignorant enough of the impossible to do that very thing.” — John Andrew Holmes

Drawing: YOUR PORTRAITS!

Todd Mrozinski: https://artconfetti.files.wordpress.com/2014/06/img_5747.jpg

Goals:

  • 2.1Ac: Through experimentation, practice, and persistence, demonstrate acquisition of skills and knowledge in a chosen art form.
  • What is a color that POPS into your mind as you have spoken with and talked to your classmate? Why do you see that color as being something that represents them?

Reflection: What was ONE accomplishment you made today in the process of the drawing? How have you felt about the PROCESS and MEANING in the work?

Studio Art 360: The Grid – Let’s Review…

Chairman Mao by Warhol: http://www.artic.edu/aic/collections/citi/images/standard/WebLarge/WebImg_000337/4396_4001158.jpg

Goals:

  • 3.1P: Apply relevant criteria from traditional and contemporary cultural contexts to examine, reflect on, and plan revisions for works of art and design in progress.
  • Why (again) is it important for an artist to choose colors CAREFULLY as they are developing a composition / artwork? What might the RIGHT colors for YOU and your PORTRAIT be in this artwork?

Reflection: Review with neighbors the relationships of the colors on the color wheel? When you look in your closet… what COLORS do you think you have the most of hanging? Why do you think that you have more of that color than others? Will these colors be in the portrait?

HERE’s where were headed with this! Andy Warhol at MoMA.
