6th Grade: Photography and the Camp Snap Camera!
Here are the 6th grade semester Lesson Plans for you to see what our day will look like.
What is the last strong PHOTOGRAPH you made? I mean PHOTOGRAPH! Snapshots and selfies are not photographs. We are going to be REALLY thinking about the idea of making photographs and framing things up properly. We are ALSO going to be using some fun Camp Snap cameras. What’s that? Look them up!
Wer are going to explore the potential of the Camp Snap cameras and look at incorporating toys into the real world (POV and Perspective), Close Ups (we will see what the Camp Snap Camera allows up to do), POV (looking at the world and its common objects from a NEW and INVENTIVE Point of View), and finally the Elements of Art… maybe they will discover what they REALLY ARE! (I’ve go a new idea for a worksheet and the ELEMENTS NOW!)

7th Grade: Neurographic Portraits
Here are the 7th grade semester Lesson Plans for you to see what our day will look like.
What does a portrait look like to you? What is the focus? How can you use COLOR SCHEMES to simplify your choices and then also make the work stronger and more cohesive? Things to think about here.
Neurographic artworks work with line (and variation) to create a sense of movement (and perhaps serenity and peace as the work is being made). If abstracted and simply used for art making it can be a very relaxing approach to simply making. We are going to be really focusing on organic and perhaps geometric shapes (closed shapes for sure) with this work. In addition, we also have worked with some basic computer skills (Google Slides and uploading for sure). Art takes the world by storm and is needed in all areas of life and needs all areas of life too.

8th Grade 2D: ROTOSCOPING
Here are the 8th Grade 2D Design semester Lesson Plans for you to see what our day will look like
Rotoscoping will be a PROCESS versus PRODUCT. This will have a final result but we are going to be more concerned with the day to day learning.
I thought Photoshop was just a place to edit photos, boy was I wrong. There are some many things we can do with it and this project is FINALLY getting some legs under it. The setting up the Photoshop image is a full day in itself and the drawing and working with brushes and layers will be even more. Will they do one layer of illustration? Two? More? Maybe we can figure out how to add music. Stay tuned… this is going to be AWESOME.

8th Grade Sculpture: Stop Motion Photography and Claymation
Here are the 8th Grade Sculpture semester Lesson Plans for you to see what our day will look like.
HERE is a work from last semester called Birthday… This is a strong example of what can be done.
What do you know about claymation and stop motion photography? This is going to be a GREAT time to spend working with a team and building a COOL video from the ground up!
We have our stories and storyboards figured out and now we are building. The studio is a buzz with collaboration and inventiveness. The sets can be simple and the characters can too. I am really excited about the work that is happening already! Some of the ideas have gone dark (as my examples of videos seem to do also) but some are really quite happy and pleasant. Constructive feedback has already happened and the work is moving forward.
