Welcome to WEEK 2 of 2nd Quarter and ALSO Welcome to FAHS Ms. K! We are looking forward to working with you this quarter!

Intro to Painting – ACRYLIC PAINTING TECHNIQUES

We begin the process of learning about acrylic painting techniques! The composition is ALL YOURS from one of the 6 Genres below.

HERE is the assignment with the video links included to help you along the way. What is your composition? Let’s see the planning stages this week!

Art Foundations – STILL LIFE in Pencil

We begin to sketch out the still life and then GLAZING! WOO HOO! Last week we looked at Stephanie Shih’s ceramics works and… perfect timing! We are going to break from values and get into the glazes.

  • 3 coats
  • Keep it a 1/4 off of the base
  • DO NOT GLAZE THE BOTTOM!
  • Take your time
  • These colors are absolutely MIXABLE!
  • 3 COATS! (Did I mention that?)

Intro to Digital Art and Photography – Collaboration and the ABC’s

THUMBNAILS and ROUGH DRAWINGS should be being worked out and now we are UP TO ILLUSTRATOR. Remember that we are going to be working together on this and you will be touching base with your team frequently.

Richard Scarry’s Cars and Trucks (please enjoy the link to their Amazon Page) definitely demonstrates one VERY successful approach to the ideas of educating our little kids on the ABC’s! How are you doing?

This week… What are your GOALS – be SMART about it!

  • Specific
  • Measurable
  • Attainable
  • Reasonable
  • Timely

We will see in 3 blocks where we are at with our MID-CRIT! Small group conversations, then split up into your other small group for continued conversation. 20 minutes!

TODAY! Let’s set up 1/8″ bleeds.
