Art Foundations: Glazing and Painting and Collage on Friday!

  • 3.1P: Apply relevant criteria from traditional and contemporary cultural contexts to examine, reflect on, and plan revisions for works of art and design in progress.
  • What are you most proud of with your first abstract painting? What are / were your biggest struggles in the use of paints? Colors? Today we WRAP THEM UP, GLAZE, and
  • We critiques – there is a little bit more work to do in the semester – we will create a collage and create a work based on a social topic of your choosing next time. Think about a larger social idea that is important to you – affects your life – we are going to make a collage

Intro to Painting: Nice Day to Paint? I HOPE so!

  • 2.1Ac: Through experimentation, practice, and persistence, demonstrate acquisition of skills and knowledge in a chosen art form.
  • What are you struggling with in regards to the PAINTING PROCESS and / or the BOOK MAKING PROCESS
  • What did you take away from the paintings experience last week? What strengths did you see in your paintings ? What challenges did you face going outside of the studio?

  • G: 7.1Ac: Recognize and describe personal aesthetic and empathetic responses to the natural world and constructed environments.
  • A: The last days are yours… the next set of prompts will ask you to be reflective and thoughtful about the work you are creating – for yourself – for your own skills and development. What are you planning and how is this going to help you move forward?
  • G: What did you accomplish today? What are you going to accomplish next time?

Intro to Digital Art: How IS your ILLUSTRATION coming along?

  • G: 1.2Ac: Choose from a range of materials and methods of traditional and contemporary artistic practices to plan works of art and design.
  • A: Corporate ID – What are you going to be doing with the ideas behind the CORPORATE ID that you are creating? What was a struggle for you the first time we did this? How can you use those skills in making your designs stronger this time around?
  • G: What did you accomplish today in the time we had for photography? Strong images? How were you able to make the best use of your time? Thinking about the images you created today… how many of the Elements and Principles were you able to document? Able to capture in a unique and original way?
