Art Foundations: Time to PAINT – R.Y.B.K.W.  – Questions?

Remember this video?
  • G: 1.2P: Shape an artistic investigation of an aspect of present-day life using a contemporary practice of art or design.
  • A: Hopefully you have completed the DRAWING of the portrait onto the grid. This was HOMEWORK – Right?
    • Please share with your neighbor the most challenging part of the process of  the drawing? One Square at a time? Did you go into the next square more than once?
    • The process of the grid allows you to focus on one square at a time and not worry about the larger picture of the process. Today we are going to talk about the process of painting the work and working one square at a time.
    • Also – COLOR SCHEME is a huge part of the process… What color scheme are you choosing?
    • Today we paint. Let’s review the rules of paints and then we get to work. Take your time – but we work solid! This is the last LAST PROJECT!
  • G: What are your plans for next time? What have you accomplished today? Allow yourself to be VERY aware of the final results from the day. Reflect. What did you get done?

  • G: 1.2Ac: Choose from a range of materials and methods of traditional and contemporary artistic practices to plan works of art and design.
  • A: How are you moving forward with the illustration? We are going to take a QUICK break from the day of illustration and look into the ideas of photography.
    • Remember that the best camera out there is the one you have. Today we take a look at photography and MAKING A GOOD PHOTOGRAPH. We will break the camera down in advanced Digital Art so that you have a good understanding of the HOW a camera works and how you can adjust the camera to make it work and do what you want it to do. You will have ASSIGNMENTS to complete between today and the end of the semester – we will be working on them IN STUDIO as we. Today is the last day to be in studio to work on the illustration.
  • Digital Photography Presentation on EXAM DAY – January 16 and 17.
  • G: What have you accomplished with the illustration today? Is there anything that you need to do in order to RESOLVE the illustration?

  • G: 1.2Ac: Choose from a range of materials and methods of traditional and contemporary artistic practices to plan works of art and design.
  • A: What artists have you chosen to use as your reference and inspiration? Remember that you now have a lot of methods and experiences to paint with… this portrait is up to you. This is the final exam critique piece. Make sure that you are going to be ready to have this work ready to roll on exam day – January 14. On the sticky notes… what are your plans this week to get the most work done that you can?
  • G: Looking at the day you had today… what did you accomplish? What fell short? Remember that we have VERY LITTLE TIME in studio to work. Will you be ready? What are you going to be doing outside of class to get the work done? The painting created?
