Shane Koyczan – TED Talk “To This Day”... for the Bullied and Beautiful… “If you can’t see anything beautiful about yourself, get a better mirror, look a little closer, stare a little longer, because there’s something inside you that makes you keep trying despite everyone who told you to quit.”

Drawing: Nests – ONE more day?

G:  3.1Ac: Engage in constructive critique with peers, then reflect on, re-engage, revise, and refine works of art and design in response to personal artistic vision. A: Looking at the still life in front of you, what is the one aspect of it that you are most pleased with? Why are you so pleased with how you handled the materials and composition? What do you need to TOUCH UP TODAY! Crit Tomorrow!

Look, Critique, Reflect... FINISH your work for tomorrow! https://i0.wp.com/www.artic.edu/sites/default/files/styles/slideshow_scale/public/cal_TP_crit_360.png

What was it that you took away from today’s critique? How will you contribute to the success of the conversation tomorrow?

Studio Art 360: Still Life CRITQUE

8.1P: Interpret an artwork or collection of works, supported by relevant and sufficient evidence found in the work and its various contexts.

As you examine this work of art, what are the larger SKILLS you have developed in the process

Whats the FINAL process looking like? Are you going to be ready on Monday? https://s3.amazonaws.com/easel.ly/all_easels/45467/Process_over_Product/image.jpg https://s3.amazonaws.com/easel.ly/all_easels/45467/Process_over_Product/image.jpg

As artists, we are in it for the process of MAKING ART, not necessarily worrying about the finished product. How do you feel about the idea of  PROCESS versus PRODUCT?

Advanced Drawing: 50 SoP WORK

G: 6.1Ac: Make, explain, and justify connections between artists or artwork and social, cultural, and political history.

This is the LAST WEEK on this drawing – I think we are LONG past the original time it was planned for. That’s OK – BUT – WHAT DO YOU REALLY NEED TO FOCUS ON TO BE READY FOR MONDAY’S CRITIQUE? Seriously… CRIT on MONDAY!

Were you able to get 3 things accomplished today that help you see you are on the right path for completion? Is there a good amount of work to finish? STAY ON TASK.

AP Studio Art: Concentration CRITIQUE (and PLAN)

10.1Ad: Synthesize knowledge of social, cultural, historical, and personal life with art-making approaches to create meaningful works of art or design.

Well… Grab a RUBRIC IV – AP Studio Art and begin your self evaluation – AFTER you have taken a few 12 minutes to do  written evaluation of 4 works of art – make sure your written critiques use ACTIONABLE / CRITICAL / IMPROVEMENT type statements. Your sticky notes from last time were, in some cases weak and unproductive. Let’s start this critique then. Get the work up in front of us and you lead the way. KORB will sit and listen… Keep time Korb.

Critique - You do the work... I do the listening... and time keeping. https://i0.wp.com/www.saic.edu/media/saic/gfx/admissions/whysaic-undergrad/critiquereplace.jpg
