AP Studio Art – Art and Fear – Let’s go to it!

What FEARS do you have? What fears are you going to have when you learn about the project coming up?

Goals:

  • 1.1 Ad: Visualize and hypothesize to generate plans for ideas and directions for creating art and design that can affect social change.
  • Art and Fear had a lot to offer. Open the book and look through your chapters… What chapter do you feel you related to the most and WHY?

What chapter did you decide to use for this next piece? What is ONE of the aspects of the theme you feel you will be working through?

Advanced Drawing: Abstraction and Pastels – Color Schemes!

Color and Shape – Let’s practice with PASTELS and COLOR SCHEMES (were going to learn a few more schemes today!) Peter Halley and his artowrk. What’s the dominant color scheme? Is there one?

Goals:

  • 1.1Ac: Individually or collaboratively formulate new creative problems based on student’s existing artwork.
  • What were your memories of drawing – pair up and discuss. Share with the class memories of drawing class. What are your expectations of the course?

Reflect on what your expectations and anxieties of the class are. Write up your reflection on the Goal Sheet.

Drawing: Still Life – FAST and FURIOUS!

What are you doing with your composition today? How can you ALL work together to develop this idea of a LARGE SCALE STILL LIFE? Drawing Class #2 – sorry – you guys work with what the first class set up BUT – you get a little extra time.

Goals:

  • 1.1Ac: Individually or collaboratively formulate new creative problems based on student’s existing artwork.
  • What is it that you think about when you think about what IS art? (SHARE WITH FRIEND) What is it you think about when you think about making art?

What are 3 things you found challenging about your first day of drawing out thumbnails?

Studio Art 360: Draw what you REMEMBER!

How do you remember the idea of FORM? Let’s test your memory with Cubes, Cylinders, and Pyramids! Robert Indiana’s BIO HERE!

Goals:

  • 2.1P: Engage in making a work of art or design without having a preconceived plan.
  • How do you draw something in 3 dimensions? What are different techniques you know? Sit with your neighbor and BEGIN with a box, a cylinder, a pyramid, and the first letter of your first or last name.

What are 3 things you hope to learn as you complete this course?
