- G: 1.2P: Shape an artistic investigation of an aspect of present-day life using a contemporary practice of art or design.
- A: This is the LAST DAY to work on the AVANT GARDE sculptural jewelry or sculpture. At what stage of the process are you? What do you need to accomplish today to get this all set and done? We are going to begin the NEXT STUDIO TIME with a rubric and then move on to our final creation – an acrylic painting – a grid portrait in color. SET A GOAL for yourself today and make sure you reflect on it frequently. STAY IN YOUR ASSIGNED SEATS as we work and KEEP THE CONVERSATION at your tables. SO NOT TALK ACROSS THE ROOM.
- G: Do you need to come in and use ENRICHMENT TIME to get caught up in the process are you all up to speed? This is a challenging process that was new to all of you. What SPECIFICALLY do you need to do? Write that out.
On a separate note… Coming up as the LAST ARTWORK for the semester… the PORTRAIT! Today we will be redirecting some action to the portrait and a demonstration of the process / planning will happen. Here are some examples and HERE is another set.

Digital Art: Literature Time – KEEP WORKING – Let’s Share our PROGRESS however…

- G: 1.2Ac: Choose from a range of materials and methods of traditional and contemporary artistic practices to plan works of art and design.
- A: What progress have you made in the illustrations? Let’s take 10 minutes and share your progress and problems with someone you wouldn’t otherwise speak to.
- When you LISTEN to others talk about thier work…
- LISTEN TO EACH PERSON AS THEY GO THROUGH THEIR OWN WORK.
- OFFER CRITIQUE WHEN THE TIME COMES – AFTER you have listened to their descriptions of their work.
- When YOU talk about YOUR work…
- What is the work of LITERATURE that you are using?
- WHY are you using that work of literature?
- WHAT from that literature are you trying to express in the illustration?
- What PROGRAM are you using?
- What are the CHALLENGES that you are having with the work of art?
- What are your SUCCESSES?
- What else can you say about your work?
- When you LISTEN to others talk about thier work…
- Also – Let’s review the TALKING about the work as a group and then move on. EVERYONE will become better at the talking part of this… I promise it won’t we as difficult as some of you have been struggling worth.
- G: Accomplishments? Are you on track? One more FULL studio time to get through this. Next period is a full block of solid WORK TIME!
Intro To Painting: Critique! I hope you brought FOOD!

- 3.1Ac: Engage in constructive critique with peers, then reflect on, re-engage, revise, and refine works of art and design in response to personal artistic vision.
- A: Thinking about the works that we have completed over the past two weeks or so, what are the struggles you had with the process? What were the successes that you had? What are you most pleased / surprised / struggled with? Take some time and talk with a friend / buddy / stranger to work through the rubric on your abstractions paintings and then the still life works. We are going to take 20 minutes to work through the rubric so that
- 1) You have thought about and reflected on your work and are ready to talk about the things / techniques you learned, like, and dislike (and WHY) and
- 2) I have the SELF-ASSESSMENT rubric to add my thoughts to.
- G: We critiqued today – that is plenty of time and thought to talk about the work. Write out ONE THING that you took away from the critique.
