How did this artist create the ILLUSION of the sidewalk being cut out and removed from the sidewalk?

Art Foundations: Two Point Perspective – Perspective Center – Peaked Roofs

Review with neighbors the process of perspective center and drawing peaked roofs. What do you have to do in order to find the perspective center of the side of the cube?

Drawing: Continue to work on the general composition of your drawing. What is the “type” of composition you are using? If the general composition is developed, then move into the specific shapes that make up the “texture.”

A lot of ideas in this drawing. Is it open or closed? This composition ALSO tells a story. What story do you think it might tell? What other “compositional” ideas do you see it having?

This is a long one: Share the thumbnails of the first part of class with one another – ASK each other WHAT is it about their composition they enjoy and WHY. (What was it about the composition that interested them before the final drawing was begun.) Have a conversation about the similarities and differences in the thumbnail and the final composition and write up 4 or 5 notes about the composition on your goals sheet.

Remember that you need to, for your own records and good practice, make 2 versions of the final artwork. 300 dpi and 72 dpi – each one for a different reason.
