• All of  your work in the gallery can be taken home today. Take it all! Today we load the kilm with your pendants also. What is the next big project? That is entirely up to you right? Yes – if you did the assignment and got your research in. In your handbook – Week 15 – WHAT IS THE CENTRAL IDEA BEHIND YOUR FINAL WORK OF ART? How are you utilizing at least 3 skills that you have developed over the course of the semester? Please write this out completely and thoughtfully. If I were to come up to you and ask, what would you say?

• Now that the t shirts are in the book, what are you planning on next? In three short sentences, on the sticky note provided, write out your plans for this final illustration based on literature, stories, or other topics that you are influenced by. Remember that this is all you. Size? Dimensions? Proportions? Program(s). It all has to be drawn however – remember that. No Photoshopping on other peoples pictures. IT is all you (although references are encouraged).

• Who are your classmates? This is a tough question to ask. Who are you and how will another person see you? What materials are you thinking about? Proportion? Perspective? Symbolism? Remember the words of  Jeanne Greenberg Roahtyn’s comment from Work of Art: “Portraiture’s main goal is to represent a person…”

• What did you take away from the critique today and yesterday? I sit and reflect on the years of teaching the art of the critique and I see the skills you have all developed. I am proud that your skills are being shown (and some of you are in need of developing a voice – I know the thoughts are there – we just need to open the mouth!)

• As you look at the designs in front of you, take time to choose the most successful one. What about that work do you see as being the most successful? What is the type of BALANCE and what (if any) is the color scheme?
