Art Foundations: Line and Drawing

  • G: 2.1P: Engage in making a work of art or design without having a preconceived plan.
  • A: Line – Using the Drawing paper in front of you and the pencils provided – let’s work through the ideas of Sol LeWitt – Sort of.
  • G: STICKY NOTES… What are 3 things you hope to learn in this room? END OF CLASS – Stand up – Think about what you are hoping to learn – in ONE WORD (and you cannot repeat another person’s comment) Your name and then your word.

Intro to Painting: Welcome to Watercolors and Painting!

  • G: 1.2Ac: Choose from a range of materials and methods of traditional and contemporary artistic practices to plan works of art and design.
  • A: What techniques do  you remember from your earlier classes about WATERCOLOR PAINTS?

Advanced Painting: Oils? Yes! Abstraction? Yes!

  • G: 1.2Ac: Choose from a range of materials and methods of traditional and contemporary artistic practices to plan works of art and design.
  • A: What techniques do  you remember from your earlier classes about Acrylic Paints or/and Watercolor Paints? Take a few minutes to talk to your neighbors about the challenges you faced in the processes. What are 3 things that you are hoping to take away from this class as we move forward in the semester?
  • G: What sorts of ideas did you take away from the drawing in the hallways today? Thumbnails are important in the  the process of making successful art. What have you done to make successful preliminary sketches of the space around you? – NOTE – If you DO NOT WANT to use the space of the building to base your abstractions on, it is ENTIRELY UP TO YOU to make the preliminary sketches and / or photographs on your own before the next time we meet. The more you can do on your own time, the more time you will have in the studio to create art! ALSO – Look into the MoMA In the Studio Series and allow yourself to get LOST in the videos!

Intro to Digital Art: Welcome to YOU! Let’s look at the ideas of YOU!

  • G: 2.1Ac: Through experimentation, practice, and persistence, demonstrate acquisition of skills and knowledge in a chosen art form.
  • A: What are 3 things that you hope to take away from this class? Aloud? Log into the computers FIRST and then we’ll talk.
  • G: What struggles did you have with Illustrator so far today?

Advanced Digital Art: Review the Programs and the like – Then it is up to you to start.

  • A: What are 3 things that you hope to take away from this class? A(Talk with your neighbor and write it on the sticky note). Log into the computers FIRST and then we’ll talk.
