REVIEW THE SKETCHBOOK MODIFICATIONS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE!

AP Studio Art – Jim Dine

    1. Know about the unique picture plane drawings of Jim Dine.
    2. Work on an OPEN COMPOSITION drawings from one of the plants in the room using a variety of charcoals.
    3. Work on using a vertical approach (standing) to drawing (easel and drawing board).

Advanced Drawing – en plein air drawing

    1. Work on 4 en plein air preliminary drawings using a variety of line techniques.
    2. Know about the challenges that working out of doors poses versus working in the studio.

STAY ON CAMPUS – Just outside of door #1 – No further than the concrete slabs. Make sure your substitute can see you ALWAYS!

Painting – Stretching Watercolor Paper

    1. Know about stretching of Watercolor Paper.
    2. Work on stretching watercolor paper.
    3. Work on (if time allows) getting outside to experience en plein air sketching.

Art Foundations 2DPatterns

    1. Work on successfully using the art principle PATTERN to create a personal background for your portrait.
    2. Work with your classmates to review and analyze Chapter 8: Pattern and successfully and complete the unit organizer.
    3. Know about the classroom expectations for the remaining sketchbook assignments. (See below).

NOTE: Sketchbook Modifications for all classes! Two grades will be earned for sketchbooks: Execution (mastry of materials) and composition (arrangement of elements through principles in art). Each is worth 50% of the final grade and allow you to track your levels of ability and learning in the process. ALSO: Three questions must be answered: 1) What challenged me in this sketch? 2) What was successful in the sketch? 3) What was my HONEST level of effort? (1-5 like on goal sheet, 5 being high 1 being low or A – F like in your report cards).
