#Welcome to #Parent’sDay at #WUHS

If you didn’t know about my daily website (the starting and ending page in class) please jump on board and subscribe to the site. Welcome to Parent’s Day in the Art Studio. Drawing, Studio Art 360, Yearbook, and AP Studio Art fill my day and making, learning the theories of, the history behind art is what we are focusing on. Zentangles and Copper Bas Relief Sculptures, Hands and Feet, Still Life, and Theme are directions the courses are headed. Enjoy your time and send me your feedback at fkorb@waterforduhs.us. Enjoy your day! – Frank Korb

“Inspiration is for amateurs. The rest of us just show up and get to work. If you wait around for the clouds to part and a bolt of lightening to strike you in the brain, you are not going to make an awful lot of work. All the best ideas come out of the process; they come out of the work itself.” Chuck Close

Drawing: The Still Life has Fallen! Yikes!

2.1Ac: Through experimentation, practice, and persistence, demonstrate acquisition of skills and knowledge in a chosen art form.

What do you need to do TODAY? To get it good and started? To make changes based on the issues we have in front of us? Are you ready to add color, texture, images to the book pages?

G: What needs doing? Passes? Come in to keep working and get ahead? What do you need to do?

Studio Art 360: Zentangles and Bas Relief Sculptures

1.2P: Shape an artistic investigation of an aspect of present-day life using a contemporary practice of art or design.

What do you feel you need to do in order to be focused and intentional in the work you are creating? One aspect of this work is to know that the marks you are making are permanent – cannot be taken out – one and done. How do you work with the mistakes that you might make?

How do you feel about the process that you went through today in the making of you bas-relief metal work?

AP Studio Art: Hands and Feet – in the style of the Masters

1.2Ad: Choose from a range of materials and methods of traditional and contemporary artistic practices, following or breaking established conventions, to plan the making of multiple works of art and design based on a theme, idea, or concept.

This is our last day in the studio to work. What are you planning on doing to get this done for the hour (or are you taking this home to resolve over the weekend)?

Thursday is here and the work is coming along. I have strong hopes that as the year progresses you are able to see the work you are creating as an important part of all that you do. Some of you, making art is essential to your day, for some of you it is an hour in the day. Let’s make it worth your while and essential to your day! Mr. Korb
