Art Foundations: Finish chapter 1 and begin chapter 4. Hands on with line and CONTOUR LINE DRAWING.

GOAL:

  1. (4.2) describe the purpose and meaning of art objects within different cultures, times, and places.

What were the different types of lines drawings that you worked on today? What are different qualities of lines and what messages can they communicate to an audience? What were your responses to the drawings that we worked on and why? Reflect with your neighbors about the drawings you did in class today and be able to identify the variety of different lines.

Drawing:  LAST DAY to RESOLVE the still life drawings – 20 minutes. CRITIQUE (Video) of work.

Goals:

The Written Critique – TODAY IN CLASS!

October 24, 2011 – Monday – 3 days this week!

We are going to talk about the modification of the grades in your sketchbook this week. Pay attention to how well you feel you have succeeded on the execution of the materials in the work as well as the composition you have created. From this point forward… you are self-evaluating your own sketchbooks and WRITING about the reason you gave yourself the grade you did. One or two sentences… nothing HUGE… but you are using complete sentences. We will take time this week to go over this so you are clear on it all. I am excited to learn more about you through this practice / procedure.
