10 Lessons the Arts Teach Children – E. Eisner – NAEA

The arts teach children to make good judgments about qualitative relationships. Unlike much of the curriculum in which correct answers and rules prevail, in the arts, it is judgment rather than rules that prevail.

Art Foundations 2DPerspective

(We will see these ones for a while – watch for the subtle variations)

  1. (1.2.3) Create art that demonstrates how the ideas relate to the process (linear perspective) you use.
  2. (6.3) Use the principles and techniques of art with those from other disciplines (architect – landscape, movies).
How do you see you being able to use this idea of PERSPECTIVE in your daily lives and / or other classes?

AP Studio Art – Plant

  1. (3.5) Evaluate and defend how (3.5.1) subject matter (3.5.2) symbols are used in art.
What about the use of plants has given you greater insight into the world around you? If it hasn’t what can you do about that?

DrawingStill Life

  1. (1.4.1) Create, define and solve visual challenges using analysis (breaking up the object).
  2. (1.1) Apply technique and process with an awareness that your ideas are executed well.

What is the hardest thing you find about the ideas of CONTOUR LINE drawing? What can you do to make it more of a part of your everyday drawing experience? How can it be implemented into the EARLY stages of a drawing and NOT SEEN in the FINAL VERSION?
