Art Foundations – What is Art?
- (5.1) Know about the reason behind making art (and sketchbooks).
- (1.4.1) Know about solving visual challenges (making art) using analysis (breaking the work into its parts).
AP Studio Art – Sculpture
- Work on (1.2) concentration works that demonstrate how your ideas relate to the materials and techniques that you use. (P)
- (1.1) Apply media, technique, and process with skill and confidence. (P)
Drawing – Achromatic
- (1.2) Create art that demonstrates an understanding of how ideas relate to the materials (pencils).
- (5.1) Identify the rationale (reasons) behind making art.
Note: Sometimes one is not thrilled about the particular drawing assignment (or painting or whatever…) but the rationale (reasons) are bigger than simply making a pretty picture. Keep that in mind as we progress throught the courses.
