Week 4 – STUDIO HABITS should ALWAYS be at the front of your mind as you come in and make art… How are your STUDIO HABITS?

Learn To Draw โ€œDrawing is more than a tool for rendering and capturing likenesses. It is a language, with its own syntax, grammar, and urgency. Learning to draw is about learning to see. In this way, it is a metaphor for all art activity. Whatever its form, drawing transforms perception and thought into image and teaches us how to think with our eyes.โ€ 101 Things to Learn in Art School Kit White ยฉ 2011 Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Kit White

Our classes begin in Google Classroom AND from the lesson plans below. PLEASE feel free to visit the day to day and see what we are working on in the studio. The links will take you to the Table of Contents… find the current week to see what we are doing.

Week 3 – We are now in the thick of the art making process… how are you doing on a DAILY BASIS in the Art Studio?

โ€œGo and make interesting mistakes, make amazing mistakes, make glorious and fantastic mistakes. Break rules. Leave the world more interesting for your being here. Make. Good. Art.โ€ ~ Neil Gaiman

“As IMPORTANT as MAKING mistakes is, it is equally important to LEARN from those mistakes” – Frank Korb

We are going to look at Daily and Weekly Studio Habits as a formative and perhaps summative assessment. How one works in the studio has a huge affect on how they make their art and you are going to be aware and knowledgeable of your studio choices.

Let us leave the Studio Habits of Mind up here for ONE MORE week – who has looked at them? Comment on them in YouTube for extra STUDIO HABITS POINTS – only in my head…

6th Grade: One Point Perspective
