8th Grade Sculpture: Glazing and fixing some glaze issues.

Remember that 4 coats is better than 3 and if your work BLEW UP in the kiln, you still need to do something with it to show that you know how to work with an disappointing result.

As a potter – I am really interested in the science behind the making. I had a question about the proper temperature for bisque ware (we fired at cone 07) and I was curious if that was the correct temperature. Welcome to Ms. Ava Sandersen from UW-Milwaukee. She will be joining us as our student teacher at Forest Park Middle School for some time now. WELCOME! It is going to be GREAT to have you here.

One more week! Before I begin… HERE is a link to the new STANDARDS BASED RUBRICS that the 7th graders REBUILT. The original was fine and written lovely for a teacher – NOW the kids had a hand in it and the standards are things they can check off and see that they have met the baseline for the standards. I would LOVE to hear your feedback! I am SO PROUD of the kids. The 8th graders did the same for their rubrics… this is just one of the examples.
