Week 4 – STUDIO HABITS should ALWAYS be at the front of your mind as you come in and make art… How are your STUDIO HABITS?

Week 3 – We are now in the thick of the art making process… how are you doing on a DAILY BASIS in the Art Studio?

ARTISTS – This is our LAST WEEK together… What Can We Accomplish In 2 Days? Monday – It’s all about TEACHERS and Encore Classes!

LAUNCH: What is your favorite cup / mug to drink out of? What are two things about it that make it special to you or make it your favorite? Write these out on your sticky notes and then take 23.325 seconds to turn and share your thoughts with your neighbor.

Today we are working on HAND BUILDING Cups, Mugs, or Trees.

You will also get some demonstration AND hands on the WHEEL if you are so inclined.

The Winter Break is ALMOST UPON US… AND… we still have a lot of art to work on. LET US STAY FOCUSED!

We are working in all of our studios this week. I have no images to upload to inspire you with this week… In fact… this is a week where it is all going to happen in the classroom. Please be aware that we are working hard and sometimes, after MANY YEARS of regular and consistent posts, things need to be set aside. KNOW that the week is planned (and you can see that in the links) AND nothing else is happening as I write this.

I spent HOURS in my own studio today and… this is part of me being an artist and taking care of me. Thanks.

6th Grade: 1 Point Perspective – The CRITIQUE and GLAZING!

We are ASSESSING the One Point Perspective Paintings this week and THEN we are GLAZING OUR BOXES – Finally.

7th Grade: Photography

Time to wrap up the SCAVENGER HUNT and then getting into the PORTRAITS, LANDSCAPES, and FOODIE PHOTOS

8th Grade 2D Design: Digital Art and Photoshop

Be patient as will I. These computers are good AND they take some time to work with SO… LET US BE EXTRA PATIENT WITH ONE ANOTHER and work through this FIRE together.

8th Grade Sculpture: GLAZING – Finally

We are going to spend about a week and do the glazing, fire, clean things up, and then assess the work. Make sure you keep the glaze off the bottom. We have to have the bottoms cleanly sponged off so that they do NOT stick to the kiln shelves.

7th Grade: Photography

When you think of PHOTOGRAPHY… what are 3 things that come to mind?

We are going to look at the cameras that we have in the department as well as the cameras that you have in your hands always. There are some skills that we are going to be working on that are different than what you use on a daily basis AND when you start thinking about the new techniques – you will make stronger photographs for yourself as well.
