Concentration of one’s visual ideas is a part of the Advanced Placement process / portfolio, but so is the idea that “I can do a lot of different works and here are my skills.” Here are some of their skills. Studio Art 360: Continuous Line Contour Drawings

2.1P: Engage in making a work of art or design without having a preconceived plan.

Sketchbook Assignment Line: Continuous Line Contour Drawings: We are going to use a single line to create observation based drawings of objects that we make use of and really think we understand. Let’s begin with a BLIND continuous line contour drawing. Volunteers anyone? From there… your hands, shoe, and maybe a face if you are REALLY brave.

AT LEAST 5 drawings – all new pages in your sketchbook – 3 hands – 2 shoes – one face (at the very least). Let’s take 5 minutes for each drawing… Draw for as long as I have given you. If you have 5 minutes, draw for 5 minutes. If you think you are drawing too slow, draw SLOWER. There will be no time left at the end of the hour. BETWEEN EACH DRAWING – Walk around and look at all your classmates drawings.
