Drawing Surreal Cloth – Woah!

  1. Know how fabric folds over the human figure.
  2. 2.6 Create multiple solutions to visual challenges that show understanding in relationship between composition and meaning of artwork.

For the past two days you have been drawing folded fabric over nothing recognizable. Today, we brought in skeletons… What is the difference when it comes to including a figure to the composition? Did you choose to develop the figure in the composition? Did you choose to leave the figure out? Either way was acceptable, but each one holds its own visual challenges and meanings.

As you finished the mannequin drawing, what proportions did you have the hardest time with? Where do you find it easiest to use sighting in with in regard to the human body? Is the head the best unit of measure for you? Do you think there is a better one for you to use?
